Just to add me name to this comment:
Can I ask if it would be posible to add the getopt* function declarations to this header file? (getopt_long, getopt_long_only, _getopt_internal etc. etc.)
These function are in this library and are very useful to me. I'm not sure if we would be allowed to take a copy of the getopt.h from Linux (glibc-devel rpm package on RedHat) I now see that the copyright of both file is by the Free Software Foundation, Inc., so that should not be a problem.
